Why Do Children Need Chiropractic Care?

Why does my child need to see a Chiropractor?  He/she does not have headaches, neck pain or back pain.  They are just a “normal” kid running around, experiencing and living life to its fullest.

If this is your thought on Chiropractic care and your child or even yourself, please just open your mind for a few minutes to take in some information.

I would like to open with a true story of a girl age 14 who one day was jumping on her trampoline not unlike any other day.  All of a sudden she jumps too far and falls off and hits a bird bath.  This fall that she sustained fractured her lower arm, strained her shoulder and caused trauma to her cervical spine (neck).  She would undergo treatments at the orthopedist for her elbow getting a cast.  She would make what seemed to be a full recovery until one day playing basketball she fell and hit her shoulder (which was already weak) and she would have to undergo therapy to help regain strength and mobility.  The therapy seemed to be working, until one day in class she was doing school work and a guy fell into her shoulder.  This caused her extreme pain and left her right arm and first three fingers numb.  Is this numbness due to the guy hitting the shoulder, the basketball fall or the fall off the trampoline?  What would have been the outcome if she had seen a Chiropractor after the trauma to her body falling off the trampoline?  She is now under Chiropractic care to correct the misalignments/Subluxations in her spine and get her on the road to recovery.

Take a look at some FAQ available at International Chiropractic Pediatric Association – Research Foundation.
